Response to the Call for Paper Proposals was robust. In line with earlier RIPE conferences, we received about 100 proposals in total. A scientific committee was nominated to review the proposals and they utilised the standard blind review process by a jury of peers. The committee (ten members in total) made considerable efforts to respond critically, offering comments and suggestions for improvements in clarity and focus. In sum, 72 proposals are accepted for presentation in the conference (5-7 September in Sydney).

The Proposal File will open as a PDF document. The proposals are arranged in alphabetical order by the last name of the first author, and organized into topical categories that suggest the structure of the work groups we will construct for the deliberations. We expect changes as planning develops, and there is always a percentage of dropouts as well as occasional late additions for various reasons. So please check back routinely to keep up. There are some restrictions on how this file can be used (to safeguard the rights of the proposers and because we expect to occasionally update the file).

Although the deadline is past, it’s still worthwhile to see the Call for Proposals for a good overview of our thematic intentions and to clarify the areas of specified focus to which the proposals were responding.

What’s next?

We have finalised the registration form and encourage those planning to attend to visit our web page at the link above and complete the registration form as soon as possible.

The Conference Planning Group is working with representatives from the University of Sydney and the ABC on the conference Programme for Day 1. This will be finalised in a meeting scheduled for May in Antwerp, hosted by our friend and colleague Hilde van den Bulck.
